The Wisconsin ERC Charitable Causes Committee is happy to announce this year's volunteer event....the United Way Day of Action In Milwaukee.  Please consider volunteering just a bit of your time to help the Wisconsin Employee Relocation Council in our charitable effort and have also have some fun.  Read below the details and if interested or if you have a question please contact....Gabriele Bachhuber, at Gabriele.templet@fiserv.com

We are required to submit the names of the volunteers by Thursday, June 12th, so sign up today!

  • Event: United Way Day of Action
  • Date: Saturday, June 21, 2014
  • Time: 8:00am-12:00pm
  •  What is the Day of Action?:
    • Each year on June 21, communities around the world come together to harness the volunteer spirit and improve the conditions in which they live. Now in its sixth year, United Way Day of Action is an invitation for people and organizations around the world to LIVE UNITED and take action to address a variety of challenges. It is a day that we ask you to help us put our mission into action by improving the building blocks for a good quality of life –education, income, and health.    

  •  Volunteer Location: John C. Cudahy YMCA, 9050 N. Swan Rd. Milwaukee, WI. 53224     
  •  General project overview:
    • The John C. Cudahy property expands over 52 acres, offering a natural environment for kids and families to volunteer. Projects include building flower and vegetable gardens, painting of early childhood education rooms, facility cleaning and engage in activities with youth including art, reading and soccer games.   
  • Volunteer opportunities include:
    • (1) working with Special Needs clients to build bird houses, plant flowers, do inside/outside art activities, play basketball, etc.; or (2) grounds upkeep including trail maintenance; enhancing or building nature areas and grounds signage, building bat houses, etc.   
  • ·         Please note that this is a family friendly event so if you have children that would like to participate they are also welcome.
